Fun fact – once upon a time I owned a character entertainment company! We performed at countless parties and cooperate events and on top of running the business I also create all the costumes. Anna was created right as the Frozen rush was beginning and is actually my favorite princess! She’s so cute and quirky! I also created the Kristoff costume worn by my husband, Jeremy!
The first couple princess costumes I created I wanted to have a feeling of historical accuracy and realism, with this in mind I created this costume from lush realistic materials. The skirt is made of a beautiful wool blend and is entirely hand embroidered, under the skirt lives a cotton petticoat and cotton bloomers. The bodice is made of a blue linen and has a hidden button plaque and some more hand embroidery. The corset was my first foray into steal boning and was a bit of a learning experience! The fashion layer is velvet with a layer of duck canvas lined with a layer of quilting cotton, it laces up the back so it could fit multiple performers.
My favorite part of this costume is the embroidery on the corset. I remember sitting at the laundry mat weekend after weekend finishing it – it turned out beautifully and was a brand new skill for me! The wig was from Ebay and the boots were from Amazon, modified by me!
