Miraculous Ladybug is one of my favorite current TV shows. It’s cute, funny, easy to watch and has amazingly relatable characters. After taking a hiatus from cosplay in 2016/2017 this was the costume that got me back into it!
This body suit was constructed using the Mcall bodysuit pattern with a TON of alterations – including adding gloves and socks to the body suit. It’s made of fabrics from the Yaya Han collection at Joann’s. I spent many hours counting and placing the spots on this suit to make it as accurate as possible. Each spot was satin stitched onto the red body suit. The entire suit is lined in a cotton spandex for comfort. There is a zipper up the back of the suit as well as one on the right wrist so I can use my phone while in costume. Attached to the socks of the suit are the soles from a pair of water shoes. These were attached with E6000 and then sewn around the edges.
My favorite part of this costume is the working Yo-yo! This was created with a shell of Thibra that houses a retractable lanyard inside it! There are magnets on the end of the lanyard and the other side of the Yo-yo so it can hang on my waist. The wig is an Arda Chibi in Dark Blue! The mask was also made from Thibra and has spandex glued to the front to make the suit!
