What’s your favorite month? Mine is for sure May! In May we start to see consistently warm days and beautiful clear skies! My favorite flowers all start to bloom in May, and all the baby animals come out to play! I live in a small farming town and when the local feed store gets their chicks in you’d think it was a national holiday – the whole town goes crazy! I love May so much that Jeremy & I even got married in May! Needless to say I didn’t think there were many things that could make May better – until I started thinking about Magical Girls. You all know I have a total weak spot for Magical Girls and for the past few months I’ve been trying to figure out some sort of posting challenge that could brighten our timelines with adorable girls.
My friend Chanti is an avid manga collector and frequently runs posting challenges on her Instagram page. A few months ago she started the #ColorfulMangaChallenge. The idea is that participants would share photos that matched the day’s theme – if everyone shares their photos in the right order a beautiful rainbow would appear in the hashtag (check out the video of what they made bellow)! Not only to challenges like this give content creators a way to spice up their posts but it also spreads love and togetherness through the community! Now that sounds right up my alley!
I’ve seen all sorts of posting challenges over the years but none that catered to fans of the Magical Girl genre, so here I am to fill the gap! Introducing;
Magical Girl May
An instagram posting challenge for any and all fans of Magical Girls!
Many posting challenges are build for specific communities, such as #Inktober for artists and #FallForCostume for costumers, but I wanted a challenge that was open to any and all fans of Magical Girls! Are you an artist? Awesome! Share your artwork that matches our prompts! Do you create Magical Girl makeup looks? Sweet! I can’t wait to see what you share! Are you a Cosplayer? Show me your Magical Girl love! Any and all creators are welcome in this challenge, as such the prompts may seem a bit vague but I know that fans of Magical Girls are full of creativity and fast thinking – I’m sure you’ll come up with something!!
